First opened in May of 2004, Far West Trading Company is a furniture, art and gift shop
located in Petaluma California. Proprietors Lou Rosenberger and Gary Hagen have created a
shopping "experience" for those who appreciate the well-traveled look.
Chinese antiques, furniture and art are complimented by contemporary and unusual pieces
from around the world. The offerings of fine quality incense, loose-leaf teas, and Oriental rugs,
as well as items from India, Korea, Japan enhance the Trading Company atmosphere.
Direct-trade Chinese country antique furniture arrives in Petaluma from ZhuHai, Guangdong,
PRC. Far West Trading Company concentrates on fine quality antiques and vintage –
traditional pieces that are suitable for the American lifestyle.
Far West Trading Company's art collection is an evolving mixture of Asian and local Sonoma
County artists. Gary has commented, "There will always be a representation of modern pieces
that are comfortably compatible with the more traditional." And, Lou makes sure that his work
