JingMai Ancient Tea Tree Plantation

Set high above sea level, at an elevation of approximately 5000 feet, sits a mountain
wielding some of natures most archaic and robust designs, the Ancient Tea Tree.

Yunnan Province is home to China’s oldest tea trees, with many aging upwards of 1,300
years. The JingMai Ancient Tea Tree Plantation, spread out over an expanse of 11,000
acres, reveals a wild, green abyss unfettered by the likes of modern man.  An earliest
record concerning the cultivation of these ancient tea trees extends back to approximately
696 AD.  Today this ancient tea tree variety continues to be harvested in the same manner
as it was more than 1000 years ago; free of the use of pesticides or fertilizers and in
perfect harmony with the greater ecosystem.

The Jingmai Ancient Tea Tree Plantation is certified organic under both United States NOP
and European 2092/91 organic standards.  This farm is one of cleanest and most well kept
in China.  The entire production process is a true marvel in terms of the vast extent of the
farm, the extensive use of manual labor that goes into each product's cultivate and, last
but not least, the completion of the final product.

Each of these teas displays its own unique characteristics and is all well worth exploring.
